Offered at our campus in Cypress, this program provides mental health counseling for families, individuals, and groups. Among the groups offered are Adult Anger Management, Teen Anger Management, and Parenting Classes.

Straight Talk also provides individual counseling to adults and children in a supportive and caring environment in which personal growth and wellbeing can be nurtured.

New Groups at Cypress Clinic

Managing and Understanding Anxiety - The group is 8 weeks, meets on Fridays 3-4:30 the primary focus is to work through Anxiety and to more effectively manage current concerns. The group involves support, education, skills development, and group interaction for living with anxiety. Members will also learn breathing and muscle relaxation, mindfulness and meditation training, and many other useful techniques to reduce stress. The group is small (maximum of 8 members), relaxed, and informal.

Becoming Centered - Mindfulness Group Friday 5-6:30 for 10 weeks, costs $15 per session and $15 for the intake, and open to any age.

Mindfulness Skills is a cutting edge treatment that is the focus of several empirically supported treatments, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive behavior therapy for depression, mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Mindfulness is deeply rooted in both eastern and western spiritual disciplines. Mindfulness will allow you to experience every moment with acceptance and without judgment. It will show you how to bring your attention to everyday experiences and sensations, so that you are in control of your own mind, rather than letting your mind control you. Over a ten-week period, this group will guide you through mindfulness practices aimed to allow acceptance, thoughtfulness, and wisdom into your life.

All counseling services are conducted under the direct supervision of the agency’s licensed professional staff, which includes experts in personal growth and adjustment, individual psychotherapy, child development, family relationships and family communication, anxiety and stress reduction, marital relationships, and treatment of depression.

Fees for Counseling

Cypress Counseling has a sliding scale fee ranging from $25/session to $95/session based upon a person’s ability to pay. The fee is set at the initial intake interview session. The intake interview is a $25 flat fee. Each session after the intake interview will be paid at the agreed rate. Straight Talk does accept some insurance plans and will discuss the pros and cons associated with using your insurance.
